2.4.0-beta2 just released -- RECORDING

Hi all, we just released 2.4.0-beta2 on the Beta channel. This release has a few small fixes, but one big feature… in-app multi-track recording!

Just to set expectations, there is no timeline or editing (this is not a DAW), but you can multi-track really easily now.

Just record-enable the submixes you want to output from the dropdown in Hardware Outputs panel (the Main Mix is enabled by default) or on the Global Set mix page and hit the Record button.

There’s a new section of the Settings Window where you can choose your recording file type, bit depth and destination.

We are still adding some polish to the feature, but wanted to get it in your hands to start using. Please give it a try and send us feedback with the Beta Feedback button at the top of the app.

I downloaded the Beta and made 2x attempts, however, I am not hearing any sound. See attached picture. It seems the sensors are sending signal to the portal, but nothing is coming out. I am able to get sound when I open from the NON Beta newest update. No issues there. One other thing I noticed, not sure if it matters. In the Beta, I’m the when pressing the new arm button “R.” The entire Mix comes up, it doesn’t seem this button can be activated at all, as it’s one with the Mix dropdown(see 2nd picture). Thanks, hope it’s not just me messing up. I/we all appreciate the beta and support

hi @West_Brad thanks for the feedback! Are you still not getting any audio? And just to be clear, do you mean no audio in the recording file our no audio coming out of your speakers?

The R in the hardware input is not clickable – we’re going to change that to make it more clear. If you want to arm different mixes, use the dropdown under the record button to the left (you can see a 0 in your screenshot, which means you have no mixes armed) or go to the mix page on the global set.

Hi. I’m not getting sound from the sensor, the sensor is sending and but nothing is coming out from the OUTPUT. The Evans portal shows Input sound but does not show Output sound (I included a pic). To be clear, I have two Apps/versions. The newest updated version works fine, but when I try the Beta, it’s setup the same and does not work. No sound coming from sensors is going to the output, in the Beta. The beta is not working

Hi @West_Brad can you shoot an email to support@sunhou.se? It will be easier for us to help you there. If you could include a screenshot of the whole app window, that will be helpful. Thanks!

Just want to say that this feature is fire! Such a great implementation of it. When I’m playing and suddenly I just want to record something I can do it with minimal clicks/searching in the app, and the folder button that immediately opens up the folder where the recorded file is is great. Just one thing: a click track (that records on a separate track) would really make the whole thing perfect.

Thanks @BuckDutt! We tried to make it easy to use. Glad to hear it’s working for you.

You can add a click track and record it separately using submixes. The only thing to keep in mind is that the Main Mix will always include the click track, so you’ll need to create a separate mix for everything minus the click.

We’re thinking of ways to make this a bit more “built-in” and seamless, but here’s a walkthrough of how you’d do this using one of the presets. I deleted all the default mixes to keep it simple:

1 Make a click track by adding a metro controller and putting a sample in it:

2 Make a new Main Mix submix by adding all the layers except for the click track

3 Make a submix for the click track

4 Record enable the new submixes so they’ll get recorded separately

Here’s the SP2 file if you want to check that out.
