I want to use SP as plugin in ableton. In the same time I want to use my RME audio interface as main audio interface in Ableton ( i want to record drums and other instruments). I tried to make agreggate device with Evans portal and RME, but then, SP doesn’t recognize sensors. I play on mesh head but there is no signal. When i select Evans portal as audio interface in Ableton everything works fine. Is there a way to use both audio interface in the same time, or i can use only evans portal?? thanx
If that doesn’t work, then you can maybe use your RME device as a standalone mixer (if you model has this ability). connect the main outs to the paired inputs on the Evans portal. Yes, you won’t be able to record each instrument into a separate track - it will be mixed down to a stereo pair.
I am using an 8 track mixer to do this on my setup and it works really well.
Yes it works for me doing it this way. One thing is to make sure the Evans Portal is the first interface in the aggregate device so the audio channel numbers remain the same (1-12). Other than that you need to ensure both interfaces are set to the same sample rate. There might be a few other things to check too if you have already set it up this way. Will have a think.
I did it. It works. I set up the Evans portal as my main audio interface in agreggate device and enabled all the channels in Ableton. Then I found the RME inputs in Ableton, since they were assigned to different channels. Thanks.
