Mainly using sunhouse as a low volume practice solution, and I’d love to be able to play along with audio from my computer. Currently I only know how to receive audio by plugging into the portal directly, but would love to route the output to my computer so I could hear the portal output and also whatever’s playing on my computer.
As a bandaid solution, I tried putting my computer output through the portal as an audio insert so I could listen to everything through the portal, but it came through really tinny with a bunch of reverb even though there were no effects on the insert. (Would love to know how to fix that too!)
Additionally, I tried opening a logic session but was unable to get the interface to show up as an input on an audio track.
That’s sort of the opposite of what I’m trying to accomplish as I am trying to hear the sound of Sunhouse through my computer (not vice versa), however even if I did want to hear the computer through the Evans portal through a line in/audio insert then that’s when I get the reverb issue I described.
If you get a male-to-male stereo 8th-inch-to-4th-inch Y-split cable to get the stereo output from your computer’s headphone jack into the Portal’s line-ins, that might be the way to go. Here’s an example.
Alternatively you could look into Loopback or another audio routing program to do this sort of wiring virtually via software, but it’s often less of a headache to just use physical wires.
