I’m curious about how the sensor training process works. I’d like to better understand the Sensory System and tune it for my playing.
During the training process, does the system need different strike intensities to “sample” the timbre of the signal at different levels? Or would it be better to use fast sticking techniques to provide the system with additional information, allowing it to “learn” how to set other internal parameters?

I though more was better and in fact i messed it up a bit. Then i needed a few more tweaks, to set it up for my playing in which support helped me a lot when i couldn’t understand or misunderstood things.
Yes, watch the tutorials and ultimately you’ll have to just play with it. I’ve been using it for years, and I just literally had to retrain one of my drums. The reason is because different scenarios will arise and you’ll have to determine what’s causing it to mis trigger, then address it accordingly. You should be able to get away with using the sensitivity and the input gain for most of your results, without having to train a Void and the video covers Void training well enough. The last tip I’ll add is, because we play at different velocities when we’re under stress, this can enter into the mix too. I’ve played harder and things didn’t trigger the same as playing soft for ex. So keep this jk mind when training and how you use it. Cheers and good luck. It’s an amazing system

I’ve already watched all your tutorials—I enjoy studying—but there are no explanations regarding the learning method used by the sensory system.
I’m wondering whether it’s better to train it using just a few strokes—both weak and strong—or if it’s better to provide a lot of information, such as press rolls and the like.

Edit. I see what the comment above and the confusion on how much to train. Yes, you can overtrain. Also, Yes, More is better, but just fill it all the way up but stop the training once the line is full. Within that training, be sure to play w your dynamics and how you play. For, ex, I do not really use buzz rolls in SP for my mesh heads, but I do on my triggers mounted on real heads, those I include buzz rolls in my training for that trigger. It learns from how you play, which is going to mostly be around your dynamics. Just focus on either end of the dynamic range you play in, soft to hard. Now, press rolls are a maybe the most specific thing you’d want to train. You may even find you’ll need to train a sensor again, once you’ve changed to a different sample, to get what you want out of it. The best thing to do is mess with it, tweak sensitivity, input gain, thresholds and don’t be afraid to retrain. It takes 20 seconds. Also, just a tip, keep your heads tensions tighter, within reason of course. I’m mostly talking about mesh, real heads same logic but your tuning preferences will play in. Cheers
