Cymbals!?!?! Wow

This is massive and I’m so excited to check these out when I get a chance!

Huge congrats and thank you for all the amazing work you guys do.

I still can’t quite believe it lol, I went through so many cymbal triggering options with my kits before settling comfortably on acoustic cymbals, but these are probably roping me back in to low-volume ones again in the future…

@tenoch when do y’all think the preorders are going to ship? I have a writing retreat with a neo-soul project over here in Seattle mid-January and I’d love to give these a test run for that! Pre-ordered em the second y’all dropped the link lol

Thanks, @drewbysnacks !!

Hmm, I think mid-January would be tight. I think it’s more likely they will ship out toward the end of Jan. Might just miss your project!!

I’ll think we’ll have more concrete info about the ship date after the new year.

Looking for advice on cymbal triggers.

When attaching to cymbals, especially the hi-hat, seems REALLY tight. I understand they need to be tight, but I am really having to push hard to get the lock.

I’m using the “syringe” move and the adjusting “nut” to tighten the cymbal is backed off as much as possible.

I really struggled with the hi-hat but it seems to not “lock” into place.

Since I was using the cymbal triggers on my original Evans low volume cymbals, I thought maybe they were thicker than the new ones so I checked out the new ones and they’re the same thickness so I’m not really sure what’s going on.

thank you

I agree, despite the new update that improves, I still have many problems with sound triggers with my ride and hi hat.

Particularly for the foot game at hi hat and for the ride when I play on the bow area I often have sounds from the crash area, I hope that a future update will help to fix this.

I have the same problem @Baptiste

Sunhouse is working on it at the moment. Looking forward the new release !!

Hey all, we just posted a new beta that includes new cymbal and hi-hat models. We also have some new controls for the snare to help deal with cross talk from the hi-hat. Check out the announcement here: 2.6.4-beta1 just released

Hi,

I have not test the Ride I received yet, but I have a question:

Can I mix Crash and Ride on the same cymbal? I assume Yes, but I wanted to ask first you guys, more experienced than me.

I have a gig on Friday (80s Cover Band) and will be using SP2 for the first time during the gig.

Thanks,

Arek

Hi there, if you’re having issues with zone recognition on the ride cymbal, then I’d say either there’s an issue with how it’s set up or you have hit on a combination of stick type and playing style that our model doesn’t work well with yet.

If you’ve made sure the sensors are setup correctly with the rubber washers properly lined up on the module, then the only way to improve things is if you share some data with us by running a diagnostic report and send it to support@sunhou.se.

Make as many diagnostics as necessary to capture the issue you’re experiencing. Please do one for hihat and cymbal.

Alternatively you can select the sensor inputs in a DAW and record the sensor audio directly and send us the audio files.

Thanks!

Hi,
After my first gig using the SP2 plus Cymbal Sensors, I have to say WOW. I am in the beginning of learning the App yet, but so far I am very happy. My band is happy too. Thanks
