In case you missed it, two of David Byrne’s percussionists have been using custom wireless Sensory Percussion rigs for his latest tour, and last week they played a special arrangement on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert featuring an 8-bar Sensory Percussion solo. As far as we know, this is the first-ever Sensory Percussion solo on live TV!

For this Who Is The Sky? tour, we worked with David’s team to integrate Sensory Percussion into their existing wireless audio setup and physical marching rigs, which involves a lot of (expensive) 3rd party gear. So no plans to offer an all-in-one wireless solution ourselves anytime soon, but the whole experience definitely got our wheels turning about what’s possible in the future. Our focus has largely been on the new cymbal sensors, but this opportunity came up and we couldn’t say no to David Byrne!
