EQ Pods to Mute Cymbals Creating False Chokes

Hey guys. I currently use 1 or 2 Evans EQ gel Pods on my cymbals to further mute the Db1 low volume cymbals. It works pretty well, but it accidentally chokes/mutes out the cymbal after certain hits when the pods are on.

Before I purchased these cymbals/sensors, Sunhouse tech told me that they were able to get them to work with 1 or 2 EQ Pods on. I’ve tried many different placements/combinations on the cymbal but will still get false chokes. Any tips?

And aside from disabling choke, what settings could I adjust to have less false chokes? Or is it possible to retrain the cymbals with an EQ Pod on the cymbals?

It would be great if the SP2 software had an “EQ Pod" modifier setting for those that need quiter cymbals due to their living situation.
