Evans Portal for home use

Hello,

I want to use my EVANS Sensory Percussion Portal to be used for youtube, gaming, basically normal things outside SP2 so that I can remove my SSL Interface and don’t need 2 interfaces, yet I can’t seem to get the sound from my desktop out to both my monitors AND my headphones.

Usually you hear the same things through the headphone jack and the monitor jacks, yet here it’s seperated.

Is there a way to send the same signal (IN STEREO) to headphone(LR) too? (I can plug in my headphones in the back but then Ill get mono of course).

I saw in a other post that it’s possible in Mac, but I really need a solution for this in Windows (which wasn’t answered).

I’ve done my research regarding loopback but apps like Voicemeeter don’t see the outputs like a DAW does (like Ableton and FL Studio where you can choose what is sent through which port).

I hope someone can help me with this!

Sincerely,

Kyarah

Hi @Kyarah_Martens - unfortunately, this is not something that can be done at the moment without something like loopback to reroute channels. I’m not that familiar with the options on Windows. I’ll try to do some more poking around to see what might work.

This is something that will be possible with a firmware update for the Portal. We’d need to add some routing options to let you pick which channels will be the system defaults. I’ll check with the development team on if we can get that prioritized.

Thank you so much!

That would be very helpful

@Kyarah_Martens Was talking with a colleague and he came up with another idea as a workaround…

You could use the two stereo headphone jacks on the portal for both headphones and your monitors. You’d just need to use a Y splitter on one of them for your monitors. You’d lose the ability to independently control their volume. But it should work for you without having to mess with virtual routing.

Something like this for the small jack:
3.5mm to 1/4" Y splitter

or this for the other jack

1/4" Y Splitter

Thanks for responding,

It won’t be useful for my case though since I can’t choose my ports and it automatically only takes the back ports (L and R). The workaround for using my headphones would then be to take a stereo headphone with 2 jacks (LR) and plug them in the back.

This is very inconvenient
