Haptic monitor / ButtKicker / Bass shaker question

Hi. I’m wondering if anyone is using any kind of haptic monitor with the their Sensory Percussion set up? I’m mostly using SP2 with mesh heads and in ears and would like to explore adding something like this to my set up, perhaps a bass shaker unit to my drum stool. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has explored this and if you’ve had any particular successes or challenges or have any recommendations. Thanks!

I have, it’s fun, but I had to set it up so as the chords and melodic parts didn’t activate it, only the drum elements, otherwise it won’t stop vibrating…..

Thanks. Did you set it up on different sends out of the portal? Can I ask exactly which type of haptic monitor you’ve used?

It’s crazy money but Porter and Davies is something that if you try it is hard to go back.

I demoed one for the last few weeks. And I have one on the way now..

So don’t sit on one unless you can make it happen. It will haunt you haha.

Pearl had a system that you can find some times on Reverb. My local guitar center has the system used for 275 dollars.zip code 44333 if you are looking for one.If you go the DIY way of a theater shaker it might work for you but I would suggest to go for a light throne seat and heavy base.

And yes just do a sub mix out of the portal.

My sub mix is Kick , Gong drum and Tom’s I don’t like the feel of low drones etc. my sub mix is being sent from a bus outside of the portal.

Thanks. Yep, I’m not going to go down the Porter and Davis route as I know that’s out of my price range. I’m thinking about picking up something like a Dayton Audio BST-1 and separate sub amp to drive it, or a ButtKicker Mini Concert and driving it with a similar amp. The more I look into it the more I realise I don’t yet know! Enjoying the discovering though.

I can completely understand on the Porter and Davies. 62 years old here so it has taken awhile to be able to have this stuff.

If you go the DIY route there are 2 major ways the actuator is mounted. To the stand itself and the other is on the under side of the seat.

My personal experience is under the seat is better and more efficient.

Hope that helps

Thank you. Really helpful.

I own the cheapest Porter& Davies called BC-X gigster, it’s more than enough for me
