Hello I am new here

Hi,

I am very new to the SP2 and had some try to set up my acoustic drum kit with the SP triggers.

The system is incredible and I’m happy I bought it.

The app is a little hard to get though.

Can you explain me or guide me how to assign samples to the toms?

I play 80’s covers and want to get similar sounding using your stuff.

Thank you

Arek

Hey Arek,

I would set up 4 inputs assigned to sensors 1,2,3, 4.

Then assign each input to Snare 1, Tom 1, Tom 2, Kick 1. Create a generator for each input. Then add samples to each drum. The 80s Drum Machine stock sample are v cool.

I attached a blank template. This is a simple way to do it. There’s probably some other ways to get what you’re going for.

Hi @Mike-Alfieri

I tried the system yesterday during the band rehearsal and I have noticed that:

  • I don’t know how to modify provided pre-sets.
  • How to make snare responding like the acoustic one?
  • The sensors were so sensitive and even hitting on the hihats (acoustic) were transferred thru them.
  • When I touched the cables close to the cable ports they were transferring the signal as well - too sensitive and bizarre.

Can you advise what to do or guide me to some information.

Thank you,

Arek

did u reveive guidance? i am having problems now ( that i have not the past year…no clue why )

and would love a video or 2…. curious if u found help and waht did help

i am struggling with this too—is there a video showing how to assign them?

Hi,
Just move the sample into the drum area. I think there is a tutorial video showing this.

Hi @lisabeeen ,

We just posted a “Getting Started” tutorial video that might help you with some of your questions.

Around the 10:26 mark, it shows how you can drag a sample from the library and drop it onto a drum pad controller to assign it to that drum. You can also drag samples directly onto the drumset graphic in the play view to achieve the same thing (screenshot below).

I am having the “touching the cables” issue too as well as snare training issues to get it to respond appropriately.
