How to secure TRS cables for cymbal sensors

Hey! When playing both of my crashes, after roughly 10 minutes of playing, the TRS cable will partially slip out of the sensor input. I will have to reinsert the cable to keep playing. I was thinking of taping it on, but maybe I shouldn’t have to go that route. Can anybody give me some tips?

Hi, try to find your tip first. That’s the best way for yourself.

Why do you think your idea is wrong?

I wanted to avoid taping because I didnt want to have sticky residue on the sensor itself

Hi, there are plenty of tapes which are not leaving any residue on the surface.

You can even re use the tape many times.

A few tips for you:

Use Velcro, bril invention

Visit AliExpress or Temu to find this tape I mentioned.

Use 3D printer to create and build a holder - more sophisticated option

Hey all, the cymbal sensor should have come with some velcro ties in the box. In the Sunhouse studio we attach them to the stand like this and haven’t had any issues. Leave some slack at the top of the cable and then velcro it to the stand. Let me know if this helps.

Soo I did as you suggested and was still experiencing issues with the cables. I ended up using tape to secure them.

I’m looking through this thread as I’m also experiencing the same issue with the TRS cable slightly popping out of the sensor for the Crash and Ride cymbals. I use the sensory system for a live wedding band. So I’m playing multiple genres throughout the night, including rock. It seems like crashing or harder hits tend to cause the cable to come loose.

I’ve tried so many different ways to secure the TRS cable using velcro, including the picture from Tenoch in this thread. My last idea with velcro is to wrap the velcro around the black sensor and loop the TRS cable up and around the sensor to hopefully pull cable tension upward. I’ll keep ya’ll posted on that idea. But yes, there are many tapes out there, like gaff tape that is supposed to prevent residue. Just make sure you store the tape in room temp to prevent melting or brittleness of the tape.

Just thought of this now. I might also try using a cable management clip (sorta like my attached picture shows) and sticking it onto the sensor just above the TRS insert port. Of course, try to get the smallest clips possible. Otherwise, the cable could be wrapped around the clip a few times to ensure no slips happen!

I’ll let you know what I learn in the next few days!
