Just played another gig with SP2, still the best piece of gear I own.
I had two issues during the rehearsal and the gig.
First was MIDI stability.
I use a Novation LaunchControl to send some infos to SP2 (mute, volume…). It works really good.
But after practicing without any trouble, I went to the soundcheck, opened my laptop and SP2, and the MIDI input which was normally “midi1” was saved as “midi2”. I switched it back, but all the assignments I did were lost… Not really handy, I had to re-assign all of it…
Also, maybe I’ missing something, but is there a way to save a project with the MIDI assignments as they are when you press “save” ?
Ex: volume controlled by a midi CC. When I save the project with the volume set to 0, every time I starts SP2, the volume is set to the max…
Another issue, which was hard to understand, was the Hi-Hat sensor which got super crazy. It started to create tones of hits by its own, in an unstoppable way… I had to shut down the portal and start my laptop again…. It happened twice during my practice time. I was not able to record this…
Any know issue ?
Thanks for your answers, and once again, thanks for all you do with SP !!
For the first issue with the input badge changing, I’ve never heard of that happening. If you’re able to reproduce this, please let me know!
For the parameter issue – this is unfortunately a known bug. What is happening is that the UI is sometimes getting out of the sync with the parameter, so it “looks” like it has changes or reset, but it actually hasn’t. This is an annoying one and is on our list to fix.
I’m really not sure what could have caused that with the hi-hat. Maybe some environmental EM noise? If this happens again, please take a video and send it to us with a diagnostic report. That would be super helpful!
Had another concert tonight, with the same band.
Nothing happened with the MIDI inputs, was alright !
Hi-hat worked well, no pd neither. Perfect !
Glad the parameter issue is a known one.
I can work with it now I know how it behaves, but sure it would be easier with the UI working good !
Another issue happened to me tonight during the gig.
A lot of hits were missing on the tom… (I only use tom and hi hat in this band)
There were a lot of sub basses on stage, which I assume can be a problem with SP.
Also, I noticed that when I hit the tom a bit harder than usual (live adrenaline..!), some hits are not played. BUT, if I do the same in training mode, I can see the hits being received by SP…
Maybe it’s a training problem ?
Once again, after a gig, many people come to ask what’s this !
It is SP !
For the tom issue – we’d be happy to look at a diagnostic report if you’d like to troubleshoot this. If you could create one and send it to support@sunhou.se
