I use Sensory Percussion 2 mostly for practice but I find it a bit complicated to route audio from my mac (apple music for example) to the portal and play along with it while also listening to my playing live. Is there a way to achieve this?
Within the Sensory Percussion app, you can send audio to any combination of the Portal’s outputs simultaneously. But if you’re playing sound from outside of the app (like from Apple Music, for example) with the EVANS Portal selected as your output device, it will only play out of one output at a time. By default, your system audio will be sending out of outputs 1/2, which are the main outs on the back of the EVANS Portal. If you’d like to monitor your system audio through the headphone outputs instead, follow these steps:
Navigate to Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup
Select the Evans Portal as your output device and select “Configure Speakers…” in the bottom right corner
Select Headphone L and Headphone R as your speaker configuration.
