Hi everyone,
I have a question about rack-mounted acoustic meshhead kits and crosstalk with Sensory Percussion.
I have my hybrid E-drum setups on racks instead of individual stands.
Racks look great and can reduce hardware clutter, but mechanically they connect all drums and cymbals together.
That means vibrations can travel through the rack tubing.
With traditional e-drum modules this can sometimes lead to crosstalk or false triggers if pads are mechanically coupled. But with Crosstalk Cancel, Threshold and Mask Time Settings on my TD-27 this is no problem after all.
My question is specifically about Sensory Percussion, becourse Iām on my way to change the mudule:
-
Does mounting drums on a rack increase the chance of false triggers compared to independent stands?
-
Since Sensory Percussion analyzes more acoustic information from the drum, is it more sensitive to mechanical vibration between drums?
-
Are there recommended ways to mechanically isolate drums on a rack when using Sensory?
-
Or would you recommend mounting the kit on individual stands instead of using a rack?
Attached is a photo of one of my setups.
Thanks for any experiences or tips!
