I’m considering trying out a dbOne head in place of the dbZero on my kick in particular, and I was wondering more generally if the presence of additional foam dampeners on the dbOne line affects the sensitivity of the sensors?
Curious if anyone’s tried both and has any thoughts.
Hi @rrv24 - shouldn’t be a problem on the kick. Sensitivity is not as much an issue on the kick as drums you play with a stick.
In general, we prefer not to use the dBOne heads on the snare, though, with Sensory. We find that the double layer design can cause some odd issues with the sensor signal. With regular snare drums, the wires are on the bottom head and don’t affect the signal, but with the dBOne “snare” built into the top head you get unpredictable results.
Hi @tenoch noch. Would you still recommend to not use the db one Head for the Snare?
I´m using the Sensory Percussion for triggering “Get good Drums - Invasion” in Logic and not every hit is transmitted to Logic. Not only on the Snare, also on the Toms, but mostly on the Snare.
What would you recommend? Thanks for helping me out!
hi @Valentin868 yeah, I would still not recommend the snare dbOne with Sensory Percussion. The “snare” is a second head that vibrates and that can throw off our sensor and algorithms. The tom and kick dbOnes are fine though. It’s just the head with the “snare”.
If you’re having trouble with regular heads or the tom dbOne, I’d recommend checking out this new tutorial video on training and the drum settings. You mind find some valuable info there: https://youtu.be/U-G0OcdWW5M?si=suvnyKIiKOI69hQG
