Does anybody know if the sensory percussion sensors work with an edrumin module? Since the edrumin module has more inputs, it would be amazing to have it as an alternative to send midi notes to Superior Drummer 3.
They do NOT. Your best bet would be a program designed by someone in this forum that used to be called “SP Tools” but has a new name now, it’s a M4L device which allows you to access the sensors from a programmer approach and basically do anything you can imagine with them. I’ll try and find his thread. Amazing stuff, but WAY beyond what my brain needs lol. Some very cool concepts in there though, like using sensors as corpus clustering etc that SP2 cannot natively do. There are workarounds to trick Sensory Percussion to utilize more than 7 sensors, but I find it generally more practical to fill anything after 7 with traditional pads or e-cymbals as MIDI devices. I rarely need more than a couple drums and/or cymbals with all the zones of the sensors and you can still send traditional pads through the deep modular programming of SP2, you just lose a couple of nuances but with creativity you can make a clutch kit.
Anything more than 7 sensors is gonna be a nightmare live, so I don’t have a ton of use cases for this need outside of looping or recording. If you want any tricks or workarounds for adding extra pads and midi devices…I’m working on some kit packs that are templates for just that. I’ll link here when I finish them
Thank you for the in depth explanation! This is super helpful as I build out my new SP2 system.
