Setting up a kit for recording

Hello everyone,

First of all, I love my sensory percussion! I am in a hard rock/metal band and we are in the process of recording. I was planning on using my sensory percussion drums for recording, as I find it easier than recording acoustic drums. The only problem that I am having is that I am looking for a good combination to make the drums sound like acoustic drums with some punch! My setup is a 24" kick drum, 14" snare, 13" tom, 16" tom, and 18" tom.

Any suggestions of what combinations I could use to make each drum sound like a deep acoustic drum with some punch?

Thanks!!

Hi @doctorcnelson that’s great! Have you tried any of the acoustic kits in the downloadable packs? Brooklyn Vanguard is more of a jazz kit, but Orbivestus Drums and Black Cat have some great rock kits. And you can tweak the sound a lot with just the macro knobs on the Play View to get a bigger grittier sound if that’s what you’re going for. You can grab these on the downloads page: https://sunhou.se/downloads

Not all the kits probably have 3 toms, but it’s pretty straightforward to duplicate rack tom and pitch it a bit. Let me know if you need some help with that.

Thanks so much! I was not aware of the Black Cat kit, so I downloaded it and I think that may be exactly what I need!

As always, I appreciate the help and will let you know how it comes out!
