Hi all,
The acoustic drums pack and the cymbal expansion contains mostly darker larger crash cymbals (smallest is a 17” Craftsman)
I’ve been playing most of my life 15”-16” crashes from brighter serieses (e.g. HHX) and I wonder if there is a reliable source for samples at a level that would fit SN
And if we already open the discussion - any reliable source for acoustic cymbals/drums that you use on regular basis?

Yes! I’ve been meaning to ask the same thing!
And how about we get some samples of entire sets of cymbals and drums? I would love a full set of Avedis Custom A cymbals.

Hey @Kfirshap ,
Just wanted to chime in to let you know about our new Modern Acoustic Expansion pack.
It includes a full line of Sabian HHX cymbals:
-
Sabian HHX Complex Thin Crash 17"
-
Sabian HHX Complex Thin Crash 18"
-
Sabian HHX Complex Thin Crash 19"
-
Sabian HHX Complex Thin Crash 20"
-
Sabian HHX Complex Medium Ride 21"
-
Sabian HHX Legacy Hi-Hats 14"
…as well as full lines of Ludwig + WTS toms.
17” is still the smallest crash cymbal size included, but they’re all quite bright and might fit your needs! If not, you could also try pitching them up slightly using the pitch & scale panel. Definitely looking to continue filling out our cymbal library with more sizes as well!

Love that! Just downloaded it and played the samples (for now clicking the mouse, not playing the kit) and everything in this expansion pack sounds great, really leaning towards the need for acoustic kits for those of us who bought the kit for home practice as an alternative to acoustic drums (and instead of buying a trigger-based electronic kit).
I like both suggestions that came up in this thread, moving forward:
- smaller-size cymbals
- entire sets like you just did with the HHXs
