SP2 AU-Version?

Hey guys,

I´m trying for weeks now to get SP2 working for Logic Pro, but I´m a little overwhelmed by now.

Is there any way that SP2 is coming as AU?

Hi guys, can you tell me how you are looking to integrate Logic and SP? That will make a big difference in what I suggest.

But as far as a Logic version of our current VST3 Ableton plugin… we tried this internally and the big issue is that Logic does not allow for more than stereo input into plugins (most DAWs are like this). Even with that, we had trouble getting two sensors to work. Ableton does not have this restriction, which is why we suggest using that for multi-track recording.

We do have some other ideas to hack our way into Logic, but at this time they are just experiments.

But please tell me what kind of setup you are after. What would you be looking for in a plugin?

I really just hope to be able to record all the tracks like apparently you can do in Ableton, but I don’t use Ableton…

Hi Tenoch,

I’ve read the problem with Logic but i would love to have it as every other plugin even in stereo only. Use the sounds with midi too and especially what i miss is to make a midi loop and dial the sounds without having to hit once, grab the mouse, tweak the sound, repeat.

I used V1 in logic and bought V2 in the hope there was a better integration with logic. I don’t use Ableton and to buy a €600 DAW software and getting to know the DAW is a bit time and money consuming…

I really would like to be able to record the stems into Logic and be able to tweek the sound afterwards.

Please put some extra effort in developping this for Logic!

In the meantime: can you share some work arrounds?

hi @basernst - the limitation is with Logic, not Sensory Percussion. Logic doesn’t allow multi-channel input into plugins. This was also an issue with V1. For V1, we created a streamer plugin that routed the audio output from SP to Logic, but that also didn’t allow for the “tweak the sound afterward” workflow that Ableton allows. You have to be able to record the raw sensor output and then feed that back into the plugin to do that.

I think the only possible workaround right now to achieve that workflow in Logic is to use Loopback software, which should work fine as long as your computer is fast enough. Just make sure you aren’t monitoring directly from Logic, or you’ll have pretty high latency.

I understand thant the limitation is in Logic…But is it likely that there will ever be an AU-version?

I used the loopback function in SP1 and it was a bit complicated and sometimes with too much latency…I will give it a try again and also try the ADAT option.

last thoughts: Im not a developer so maybe completely stupid but when its possible to record the raw audio files into a DAW on different tracks then you might be able to feed the tracks back into multiple instances of SP2-receivers running in the back and route those to the main SP2 audio software module. :roll_eyes: or ask Claude… :grimacing:

I’m not sure we’d release an AU version of the plugin if it doesn’t do what users expect it to do. It’s definitely on our radar and we’re always looking for other solutions.

If you do give the loopback solution a try again, just make sure you are monitoring directly from SP rather than Logic. That should avoid latency issues.
