SP2 for Edrum replacement

Hi everyone,

Like most edrummers, I’m really unhappy with the state of cymbals.

SP2 is very attractive due to its cymbals and extra zones.

Does anyone use their SP’s like a traditional Edrum kit? I just want to play Edrums that feel more like real drums.

Is latency a concern with these?

Thanks!

bumping this. i want to know too. i can see a lot of the marketing is for experimental stuff and thats cool but for people who are newer to this system its a curiosity how it can do lower volume acoustic drumming and if it does it with more granularity than most big name ekit manufacturers

Hi,

It’s like almost playing a real kit. You forget it’s electronic. Rolls are not like a machine gun anymore, you get rimshots, sidestick, dynamics and whatever you can imagine.
There is also minimal noise with this setup where in classic e-kits it’s like hammering all day resulting getting complains all the time which led me to stop playing and practicing. From the day i bought sensory i play everyday!

Now about the latency it depends on the computer you have. I have a mac mini m2 pro with 16gb ram and it runs smoothly.

Hey, i totally agree with Costas, its super close to a real kit. I absolutely enjoy playing with it (and my family too). I have it running on a m4 mac mini with 16gb ram (550€) and its running super smooth. never crashed on me and playing it live worked like a charm. Iam running it at 64 Buffer and only one or two other apps open at the same time (appe music, spotify or safari with a few tabs). Iam thinking of switching to an macbook pro with an m5 pro chip and 32gb ram for running it on the lowest buffer setting and also visuals. But for now, everything is working and i dont even know, if i would feel the difference in buffer size. Cheers
