just getting started with sp so maybe this is a stupid question, but i see no “speed” option in either note or hit controller, only “velocity” and “timbre”. what am i missing? thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, there is currently no speed option on Note Controller. We will be upgrading the Note Controller in the future. Most of its functionality can be covered by the Pitch & Scale panel, which is a panel that can be revealed on all Controllers.
In this case, you would just drag and drop a speed modulator to the Note Control slider of the Pitch & Scale panel:
