Hey just letting you know running two portals is a cinch! With the beta software it works as it should.
I hope seeing it was a lot of money to invest for a portal to run an extra cymbal and two extra toms that perhaps the team could make the audio and midi connections work on this second unit eventually also.
It would create 8 audio inputs natively to the portals without the need of a sound interface, very useful.
Cheers

I would be interested to know if they plan on creating an expansion portal that only has the sensor inputs, and none of the other features, for a lower price than a full second portal.

I guess that depends on demand…im not sure how well its selling. There so much competition with edrums and a lot of people cant be bothered with triggers and will stick with pads. That said no-one else has this kind of open source flexibility with their software. Its pretty much endless lol…
Anyway, two portals uses two usb connections on my my mac, it has three thunderbolt 5. This creates problems if I want to use midi and an external drive for SD3 or other sounds I want to use inside of the SP2 software.
I haven’t tried using a hub with the portals yet because thunderbolt 5 hubs are expensive.
