It is really cool that low volume cymbals can now be used with Sensory Percussion as it is now a viable option for building a complete electronic drum kit.
As a four piece cymbal pack is offered, the logical next question is: How to use more than 7 SP sensors?
My kit consists of five drums and I want to use four cymbals. Even if I won’t use a sensor for the kick, but a simpler trigger to free up one sensor input (if that is possible?), I am still missing an input. Will there be a bigger Portal interface or can it somehow be extended?
If you have any v1 sensors, you can use up to two of those with the portal’s XLR/Combo jacks. That would get you to 9 inputs. We’re working on a possible short-term solution for adding more v2 sensors, but I can’t say much yet.
Oh crap.. I was so excited about the new cymbal set that I just automatically ordered it, but now I’m realizing I won’t be able to use it all, or I will have to disconnect sensors that I’m already using.. drag…
I’m already so deep invested in the system, I am very curious what the possible short term solution you mentioned would be. It would be super unfortunate to have to disconnect sensors and just have them sitting around, or sell them.
