Using the software on a Linux machine

Has anyone managed to get the sunhouse software running on a linux machine?

I understand that only Windows and Mac machines are officially supported but I am wondering if anyone has managed to get it running on a Linux machine.

I tried using what was at the time the most recent version of AV Linux about a year ago or so. The Portal is a class compliant USB device so it will show up as an audio interface but the SP software failed to open for me in Wine. Because I was on a laptop, I also couldn’t pass the USB ports through to a Windows VM without some serious hurdles, so that was the end of my testing at that time.

I recently managed to get EZDrummer 3 running in Bottles on a steam deck and it was relatively simple to get it running and use it with an alesis electronic drum kit over USB.

I am still waiting for my portal and sensors to arrive so I haven’t been able to test out the sunhouse software just yet.

Once everything arrives and i get everything set up, I will leave an update on whether or not it works on Linux.

As someone who would rather be using Linux over Windows these days I would be happy to know if you get it up and running. Even better would be a linux compatible version of the software.

I’m also a Linux user (Ubuntu). Would be nice to see the Portal running on it. The best would be an official flatpak package as some good DAWs have.
