V2.7 update - some kits don't load samples properly

After updating to 2.7, some of the core Sound Packs no longer load their samples. I’ve noticed this on Black Cat Drums and Orbivestus Drums so far. I have to repair samples for all the kits for anything to work. After repairing there doesn’t seem to be a way of saving the file path change so it reloads unlinked each time.

Hi @clarkbaechle,

There’s a chance that you originally installed the packs in a short window which there was bug that installed them as userpacks and not factory soundpacks - if that’s the case I could see how this update would break the links.

It would be easy to tell if that’s what happened because you would see them in the User Packs section of the library and not the Sound Packs section.

If that’s what’s happening, then the solution is to redownload and reinstall the packs from the website and then delete the ones in your Music/Sunhouse/Sensory Percussion 2/userpacks folder

If that’s not what happened, or if you’re still having difficulty with them go ahead and send an email to support@sunhou.se and we’ll figure out what’s going wrong with the filepaths

I updated because the when the app opened it said there was a newer version, so I just told it to download the update and then installed normally and chose to replace the old app.

The packs were not in my user folder. They showed up as usual in the Sound Packs tab but no longer worked.

I was able to download and reinstall the 2 packs that didn’t work from the sounds page on the website and now they work again.

@clarkbaechle,

Oh interesting - thanks for the report. Glad to hear that reinstalling the packs fixed the issue - tomorrow I’ll look into possible reasons why this update would have broken the links for you, since this appears to be different than the known issue I mentioned above.

If other users run into this, sending a diagnostic report to support@sunhou.se may help us understand this issue better, since it will include the current session file (so we’ll be able to see where the samples are trying to link to)

Thanks again @clarkbaechle!

Hi,
I spotted it as well.
Some kits triggers buffering to the level when the sound is cracking.
Same with a latency. At 128 all play okay. When you change to 64 it can’t be used due to distortion.
Thanks
Arek

Hi Arek,

Can you open one of the sets that isn’t loading sample filepaths correctly and send a diagnostic report to support@sunhou.se?

I wasn’t able to replicate the sample filepath issue when I looked into it earlier this week, so a diagnostic report may help point to the root of the issue.

I’m not sure what would have changed between 2.6 and 2.7 that would affect CPU load. A diagnostic report may help us understand this, as well, but it may be an issue unrelated to the update

I’m new to Sensory Percussion and have found it to be amazing BUT I’ve been having issues as well after updating. Seems sounds aren’t loading properly, getting distortion and some sounds are VERY quiet. Mainly tom #2.

@cw1970,

Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying Sensory - for issues like these it’s always best to reach out to us at support@sunhou.se. Feel free to send a diagnostic report, as that will help speed up the troubleshooting process.

It seems like there definitely is an issue with sample filepaths getting broken in some specific cases - most likely affecting certain operating systems or updating from certain version numbers. I haven’t been able to replicate this myself yet, so it would be very helpful to see a broken filepath (which would be included in a diagnostic report as long as the session file is open while the report is running)

Hey thanks for the speedy reply! When I’m in front of too the kit later i’ll do that. Also noticed I wasn’t getting rimshots on the snare. Seemed to be either the head or the cross stick.
