Hi
I’ve seen similar but not identical topic so I open a new one hoping it’ll not double a previous topic!
It is possible to use v2 sensors with portal to control v1 software projects?
I ask this cause I have some old v1 projects that it’s not possible to migrate from v1 to v2 software and I’m wondering if I can use the same setup (with v2 sensors and portal) to shift between new and old project during the same gig without necessarily have to mount both v1 and v2 sensors on the drums…
thanks
Hi @maxmagaldi,
Yes! It’s definitely possible. You just have to do two things.
The first is to change your input routing to match the I/O of the portal: How to Route Input in Sensory Percussion | Sensory Percussion v1 Help
Portal channel 5 is the first sensor channel: EVANS Sensory Percussion Portal | Sensory Percussion 2 Help
Then you have to turn off auto-level: Checking for Signal in Sensory Percussion | Sensory Percussion v1 Help
The V1 auto-level feature is looking for the specific signal profile of a V1 sensor, so when you plug a V2 sensor in, it doesn’t recognize it.
If I remember correctly, you’ll probably want to increase the gain of the V2 sensor a little bit in the threshold panel, as well:

ok,
and this will work also with the v1 software ableton plug in? in the plugin i don’t have the input/output matrix so i need to change the input from the ableton tracks?
@maxmagaldi, yep! precisely
