Version 1 trigger on a 16 inch Rototom?

Sorry a longer post then I intended I can ramble on.

Can anyone tell me if a version 1 sensor will mount on a 16 inch Rototom with a mesh head

I use a 16 inch Rototom for a gong drum and currently using the v2 sensor

With no issues. But I only really use 2 zones and the rim to trigger changes.

But using a v1 sensor in the mic input on the portal would open up a 2ed crash for me and be a better use of the new technology.

I could change to a DW pancake drum but I would rather use the Rototom. 20 inch vs 16

kick is being split to the pearl mimic and mic/line input on the portal with a pearl tru trac kick pad

Mounted In a 22 inch drum

Left Side floor tom and gong drum v2 sensor

Snare is mimic and v2 sensor

Rack Tom and right floor Tom’s to mimic

Ride, crash and 2 yes 2 high hats to the portal. 2ed hat is on the way and confirmed multiple hats can be used.this should be talked about more. There is nothing else on the market that could do this.

In my opinion this is a huge deal.

Actually, the reason I have two mimics was to have 2 hats and a very expensive way to have to do that.

So I have one input left on the portal and switching the gong drum to a v1 sensor and adding a crash I would be done and not need a 2ed portal as of now haha.

On a side note after 40 plus years of saying trigger do you know how hard it is to say sensor.

But it is a very important thing to put out there. Seriously a dream come true for me

Thanks again.

That snare looks fantastic! Hmm, I originally thought I was going to use some rototoms with mesh heads and V2 sensors; but totally abandoned that when my steel DW toms worked so well. Curious!

Thanks. Tama SLP g-maple

It has my diy triggers on it and the buttons send a program change up and down to the Mimic.

One with snares on and the other snares off.

The v 2 sensors work great on Rototoms. The rototoms have such a shallow edge they did a great job on the design. V1 are it looks like based on the Roland clamping and those don’t work.
