I was wondering what the experiences around here are with regular drumheads and which kind are most responsive and get the best result?
I have been using emperors, might try ambassadors next.

That’s an interesting question. Here at Sunhouse HQ we have some Powerstrokes and Ambassadors, as well as a few odd Evans heads. They all work great. In general, you will find a much bigger difference in how you tune the head, than between different head types or brands.
To get the best result from Sensory Percussion, you’ll want to tune it tight, and you’ll also want to dampen it a bit (we use things like moongel). And make sure you don’t have any rattling hardware!
